The 'Girls' are the vines of the various vineyards and regions that winemaker, Rob McDonald, farms. Days of lingering sunshine & nights of cool breezes help this offering develop thirst quenching and food friendly acidity met with a fresh minerality to make for a wonderful experience.
Composition: 100% Pinot Grigio
Tasting Notes: Rich, ripe peaches and green apples are followed by soft almond and fresh honeysuckle as the bouquet builds in the glass. The texture is medium bodied and crisp, not vapid and thin like other Pinot Grigios. Subtle peaches & cream are met with flavors or nectarine, soft watermelon, and a minerality reminiscent of fresh beach air.
Pairings: Fresh Caprese salad, linguine and clams in light butter cream, ceviche, sashimi, eggs benedict with sundried tomato Hollandaise.
Winemaking: The grapes are harvested early in the morning to keep them cold going to press. The wine is predominantly composed of free run juice, with a small addition of the lightly pressed juice added.
Winemaker: Rob McDonald - Rob and Kat met in Australia when Kat left California for an opportunity working with a brewery took her from home. Three years later, Kat returned to the United States with Rob soon to follow. They founded an import group to bring many of their favorite Australian producers to the United States, Kat would attend law school, and they would plant many a vine to pursue making their own wines. Their parent portfolio holding, Art+Farm Wine, was founded in 2005 and they have been making wine ever since.
