The ultimate crowd pleaser- this chardonnay is crafted from two cooler climate vineyards in the southern parts of Napa Valley: Los Carneros & Oak Knoll. Older French oak barrel fermentation adds subtle spice & silky texture to balance the creaminess & tropical fruits.
Composition: 100% Chardonnay
Tasting Notes: Bursts of tropical fruits such as pineapple, guava, and kiwi jump from the glass- but you can almost smell the textured body with their intensity and the touches of baking spice in the finish. The texture is full, leading touches of hazelnut, lemon curd, and spiced pineapple into layers of cream and leaving no question that this is a proper Chardonnay.
Pairings: Seared diver sea scallops, cedar plank grilled Coho salmon, herbed gnocchi with pesto, toasted cashews, Vichyssoise, lentils with smoked ham hock, and of course lobster.
Winemaker: Kat & Rob McDonald - Rob and Kat met in Australia when Kat left California for an opportunity working with a brewery took her from home. Three years later, Kat returned to the United States with Rob soon to follow. They founded an import group to bring many of their favorite Australian producers to the United States, Kat would attend law school and they would plant many a vine to pursue making their own wines. Their parent portfolio, Art+Farm Wine, was founded in 2005 and they have been making wine ever since.
